Creative & Communications Director
Definition/Summary of the Position:
The Creative Director and Graphic Designer has the primary responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of the creative and communications aspects of CONNECTCHURCH. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all creative elements including design, video, social media and atmosphere. The Creative Director will work to develop the projects and team members in the design, video and social media departments. Key Functions include strategic development, system implementation, graphic design/brand development and ongoing management of creative projects.
Overview of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead CONNECTCHURCH in planning, conducting and evaluating a comprehensive plan for creative design and video
- Create digital and printed expressions through graphic design to help communicate the vision of CONNECTCHURCH
- Maintain a working project management system to keep projects on track for creative projects
- Lead the creative team in order to create a comprehensive approach and to ensure team deadlines are hit
Focused Areas of Responsibilities:
- Creative Elements
- Create design pieces to adequately present the vision of CONNECTCHURCH
- Work closely with the Graphic designers, videographers and social media coordinators to create supporting images and videos to be paired with in service and social posts and other expressions
- Develop best practices for growth and development in the area of design
- Creative Director
- Work with the leadership team and department leaders to make a plan and timeline for developing the creative/communications elements for CONNECTCHURCH
- Work with production and worship teams to implement the creative aspects for services and various events based off of the plan developed with the Leadership Team
- Create systems and procedures to develop excellent creative communications and a well developed team
Necessary Knowledge/Skills:
Strong planning skills with a marketing/communications emphasis. Leadership abilities with demonstrated oral and written communication capability. Must interface with all levels of the Church membership and staff.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (or working towards) in Marketing/Advertising or Graphic Design of an accredited college or equivalent work experience and must be an active at their current church.
Expectations besides your regular workweek schedule:
- Assist with side projects/events for the church as deemed needed
- Represent the Church in accordance with the vision set forth by the Lead Pastor
- Any communication whether personal or professional is representing the church and must be done in a way that aligns with the churches beliefs and represents the church well
- Abstain from social drinking and public or private drunkenness
- Represent a growing personal relationship with Christ
- Participate in a small group on a regular basis
- Set appropriate boundaries in life and ministry to protect his or her character and integrity
- Faithfully give to the ministry of CONNECTCHURCH with 10% of your gross income
- Look for opportunities to reach those who are far from God
